| Question is will we recruit some other people to our kin or we will continue just by ourselves? | |

| Well with LotRO I guess its kinda necessary to recruit people for raids etc. Unless we try and find ourselves another small kin to ally ourselves with that is?
Personally I can't see anything wrong with recruiting a few more as long as we stay fairly small. Nothing screams disaster like a massive guild/kinship! But hey, thats just my POV.
I'd be interested to hear where our Vorshadir stands on this actually....

I was going to do this as a seprate post but you fellas beat me to it, so I think it deserves a 'sticky'. I do want to bring new recruits into the Kinship, but I didn't want it to be a quick affair or snap decision. RP/Story-wise, we'd be very careful who we were letting in, knowing full well the enemy has its agents too. Here's what I was going to suggest: 1. We recruit by invitation only and I suggest we recruit only from people we trust / know (family members, b4h people, old mates etc) or people our characters have been in a fellowship with. Should anyone find us from outside (i.e. come to these forums) they can join as a witness, but will need to play (and roleplay) with one of us first. 2. I want to wait until the forum has been updated to Rederic's work and also wait until we are Kinship Rank 5 - this shows we are an established Kin and looks good to outsiders. 3. Each and every potential recruit must meet at least a 2nd Neránian (of any rank) before being entered into the Kinship (one person can be manipulated/corrupted, with 2 its safer), this gives people a chance to air their concerns to someone else should they not get on with a potential recruit. Peferably their joining the Kinship should be role-played out, so we can get at least a feel for their RP capabilities. 4. OFficers, Elder Neránians and The Vorshadir should be the only ones recruiting people; its also considered their responsibility to not let complete idiots in. If you're a member of Gray Watch or Green Watch who has a potential recruit, simply set up a meet with an Officer and voila! you have your 2nd person for recruitment purposes and the Officer can invite the player if they so wish. I do still want to keep the Kinship quite small, for a total of 37 members: 1 Vorshadir2 Elder Neránians4 Neránian Officers15 Gray Watch15 Green Watch(plus of course, any Witnesses, but these are only 7-day ranks anyway)

Love Belle xxx Thanks for the support! If anyone has anything to add to those 4 major points please let me know, this will eventually end up in the "Rules" section once everyone is happy with how it stands.

| Establishing 37 active players that are good RPers could be a little difficult, but I agree with this idea as well. | |

It'll be difficult, but therein lies the challenge! We have 8 decent RPers already and someone who is very new to RP can pick it up of others and become good themselves ( belle, anyone??! lol). So long as someone is willing to RP and they are patient enough to learn, we're probably onto a winner. And if they're on an RP Server, It goes without saying they're at least willing to try. *crosses fingers*

| Can I throw a spanner in the works? A small spanner, mind you. Teeny. What becomes of the Kinship once SWTOR is released? Most of the current members plan on devoting a lot of time to TOR so how will the uncertain future of The Neránians effect recruitment from outside B4H members? Are most of us planning on playing (and paying for – those who haven't a lotro lifetime subscription) both MMORPGs in tandem? Do the TOR players hand in their swords and quit The Neránians allowing 'outsiders' to retain the Kinship? Or do we put the Kinship in a shoebox under the bed for safekeeping 'til we tire of outer-space, leaving non-SWTOR players out in the cold until/if that happens? Would that be fair? I don't know the answers but the questions are worth asking. | |

| A fair point, well made.
'I don't know' is the honest answer. I was going to speak with players about this and see what they thought further down the line.
I'm really enjoying The Neránians - even more so than I was expecting - and dont want them to 'die out'. I'll probably be playing (and paying for) both Lotro and sw:tor but there is no denying I wont (well, CANT) be on here as much if I am playing sw:tor too.
If there ends up being an exceptionally dedicated player who (for whatever reason) ends up on here full time and not TOR (like a new recruit between now and then, for example) I might well relinquish leadership but still play as an active lotro player.
At the end of the day, I won't do anything without the agreement of you Founders. This is *our* Kin and we make it what it is, shape it through our actions into what it will become. Any decision has to be a joint one, and not lightly taken I think.
One thing you can count on Red, either The Neránians will still be around in one form or another when sw:tor comes out or, if people would prefer it, they'll go down in an RP event so massive it will shake the very foundations of Laurelin!

| It's nothing personal to the Neranians, I think we're a great kin, or the game, I'm having a lot of fun with it, but when the Old Republic comes out I'll be dedicating my time fully to that so I'll come up with a way to write my character out, regardless of the circumstances. But it's a long time until then! So let's enjoy the present.
P.S. The site just updated and it looks fantasmictastical.

| Argo, I remember you (and someone else - cant remember if it was Nord or Dugo (sorry chaps!) ) saying you had a "lifelong' subscription to lotro - are those still available? it would certainly save worrying about what happens here when SW:TOR comes out if we can all put the game down and pick it back up together some time in the future! | |

| My mummy bought me the lifetime sub for christmas. They're available at any time and cost £150 to buy (no idea what that would be in euro's). You can buy them through your COG accounts fairly easily.

| I know i'm getting old cuz i can't even remember how u do it other than through the COG accounts page that u access when u use the log in screen for lotro and click the 'account' button at the top of the screen. I also remember i had to cancel my current subscription with click and buy, then do a 'create new subscription' but after that i am completely blank. Love Belle xxx P.S untill ur sure how to do it, don't cancel ur sub... | |
